Planting deciduous trees at least 15' to 25' away from the house on the south and west sides will provide afternoon summer shade; and, will also permit sun to pass through bare branches for solar gain in the winter.

Have paper and pencil ready to write down the date, time and name of the company representative you speak to each time you call your utility company with questions or complaints.
