Empire Zone programs are administered through cooperation of the New York State Department of Economic Development (ESD), New York State Department of Labor, the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the local economic development certification board. The regional offices for ESD are available by accessing ESD's website http://www.empire.state.ny.us

Power for Jobs Program

To help retain jobs and expand employment, the Power for Jobs (PFJ), administered by the New York Power Authority (NYPA) is available to eligible large businesses and not-for-profit corporations with more than 400kw of electric demand. Small businesses and not-for-profit corporations (each having a minimum of 10kW of electric demand) that, individually, or as an aggregated group have loads of 100kW or greater may also be eligible.

For more information contact NYPA at 1-888-562-7697 or access the NYPA's website http://www.nypa.gov/

Energy Services Companies (ESCOs)

Any business, individually, or as an aggregated group of businesses can seek competitively-priced energy supply from an Energy Services Company (ESCO). You can choose whether to remain with your current utility or switch to an ESCO that provides electric and gas supply and other services. A listing of ESCOs is available on the Public Service Commission's website http://www.AskPSC.com
