Beginning on October 1, 2005, customers of Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RG&E) could choose to buy their electric supply from RG&E or an energy service company (ESCO). RG&E customers can choose their electricity supplier -- RG&E or one of the ESCOs; and a fixed or variable rate for electricity supply.
