The best time of the day to use electricity is called off-peak hours. These hours are typically before 8:00 AM and after 8:00 PM. This is the time of day when the cost per kWh is lower. Consumers have some options such as programmable thermostats and timers for setting appliances and HVAC systems to turn off and on during these hours.
