NYS Public Service Commission Seeks Public Comments on the Joint Proposal Regarding Central Hudson's Proposed Rate Increase (Cases 09-E-0588 and 09-G-0589) |
On July 31, 2009, Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation (Central Hudson or the Company) formally asked the New York State Public Service Commission (Commission or PSC) to approve increases in revenues (the total amount of money collected from customers through the rates they pay) for electric and gas delivery service.
On February 3, 2010 a Joint Proposal was filed by Department of Public Service (DPS) Staff, Central Hudson, and Multiple Intervenors (an association of large industrial, commercial and institutional energy consumers) proposing terms to resolve contested issues, including a three-year rate plan starting July 1, 2010.
Under New York State Law, the Commission must decide the case by June 27, 2010. It may adopt or reject the Joint Proposal in whole or in part. Public Statement Hearings were held in Kingston and Poughkeepsie where an Administrative Law Judge presided over the gathering of public comment and all evidence that related to this proposal.
