What a homeowner plants outside their home can determine the temperature inside the home. Planting deciduous trees at least 15' to 25' away from the house on the south and west sides will provide afternoon summer shade; and, will also permit sun to pass through bare branches for solar gain in the winter.

Customer Survey on Bill Content/Format

In the New York State Public Service Commission’s February 16, 2015 Order, Staff was directed to develop a proposal to increase the informational value of utility energy bills to improve customer engagement and identify customer preferences.  To obtain customer preferences on the content and format of their monthly utility bill, Staff has developed a survey.  Survey questions pertain to components of utility bills, presentation and accessibility to usage and bill information, energy efficiency and bill management programs, and preferred method of bill delivery.


We greatly value your feedback on this matter, as changes may affect the energy bills of utility consumers statewide.  We would like to obtain as much input from as many demographics as possible.  The last day for responses is July 31, 2015.
