In today’s increasingly interconnected world, telephone service provides a vital lifeline to emergency services, friends, and family. No one should be out of touch simply because they cannot afford telephone service. Lifeline and Link-Up are two financial assistance programs that help income eligible customers offset the cost of establishing phone service and save money on monthly phone bills. |

A resolution sponsored by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), the Federal Communications Commission, and the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates has designated September 12-18, 2011 as "National Telephone Discount Lifeline Awareness Week."
The PSC is joining other state agencies, local human service organizations, and local telephone companies to promote Lifeline Awareness Week and focus attention on these important programs. During the Week, multiple events will take place across the state where eligible consumers can sign-up for the programs. A list of events is available below. Come join us and start saving today!
Please note - Anyone interested in spreading the word about Lifeline Awareness Week can use the following: generic application, and brochure to assist you in your efforts. The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners has also developed an outreach toolkit with sample press releases, letters, etc. that can be modified for your own outreach efforts.
